I'm looking forward to working with all of you this semester! You should be checking here regularly for course updates regarding the work that is being completed in class. This is an overview of the next 3 weeks before Exams. This week we will be starting "Life of Pi". On Monday we will have the reading quiz from the novel. Then we will start watching the movie. After we finish the movie (likely on Wednesday) we will start working through our lessons of the novel. I will be teaching the novel first in "lecture style" where I will discuss certain aspects with you and have notes on the projector and you will take notes, just as you'll be expected to do next year in University. After we work through the lectures, you will start doing some in class tasks to gain a deeper understanding of the novel. This will take us through this week and next. During the last week before exams, you will write your In Class essay (based entirely on "Life of Pi" on Monday January 20th and then we will finish up the novel study and do some review for the exam. Your exam for this class is on Wednesday January 29th. It will be composted of Hamlet, "Life of Pi" and a sight passaged connected to the essay unit from the start of our class. The next three weeks will go very quickly, so work hard to keep up! :) Happy Final Month of 4U English! SNOW DAY UPDATE!
