Today we are going to discuss some of the things that I noticed while marking your essays. We will also talk about how to effectively connect rhetorical devices to thesis statements.
Finally we will read through a new essay and discuss it - "What you'll wish you'd known." Today we are going to take up some of the questions from the week and have a discussion.

:) Today we will be reading the essay "Why We Crave Horror Movies" by Stephen King.
Today we are going to do a little essay breakdown activity and work on effectively finding thesis statements. You'll also be given time to work on the questions from Atwood and Llosa's essays.

Today we are going to read the essay titled "With Pens Drawn" by Mario Llosa. Your personal essays are also due today. Please submit WITH THE RUBRIC! (all capitals, that means I'M SERIOUS!) Today we will discuss my late policy and plagiarism. After this, you will have the period to work on your personal essay assignment.
On Thursday we will read through the essay called "Amnesty International" and work through an analysis of it. On Friday we will be in the library working on the personal essay. Personal Essay is due on MONDAY. Today we are going to go through the 6+1 traits of an effective writer. We will also talk about your first essay writing assignment! Yay! :)
